What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Party Octopus Ltd provides hosted 360 photo booth experiences for weddings and events across Yorkshire. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Our enquiry forms ask for your name, email address, phone number, event date, venue or location, which collection you're interested in, where you heard about us, and whatever you choose to tell us in the message box. Our guide download asks only for an email address.
If you book through our availability system, we hold the details needed to run your event and take payment - contact details, event date and location, timings, package details and payment records.
This one matters, so we've set it out plainly. At an event we photograph and film guests who choose to use the booth, and guests enter an email address or mobile number at the sharing station so we can send them their video. That means we hold images and contact details belonging to your guests, not just to you.
We use guest contact details to deliver their media on the night and, where relevant, the gallery afterwards.
At the sharing station a guest can also choose to hear from us about our own services. That is their decision, made at the event, separate from sending their video, and never assumed - it is not something the couple or the host agrees to on a guest's behalf. If a guest opts in, they can opt out again at any time using the link on any message we send, or by emailing us.
At some events we also run a second 360 camera, mounted high on a pole and positioned in one corner of the room, where it films the room as a whole rather than a single booth. It stays in that fixed position all evening. It differs from the booth in one important way: it captures people who have not chosen to step onto a platform.
Wherever it is running, we display clear signage so that everybody in the room knows filming is taking place and how to opt out. If you would rather not appear, tell any member of our team at any point in the evening - you do not need to give a reason, and we will make sure you are not included.
We sometimes use photographs and video from events to show our work - on this website, in our brochure and on social media. If you or a guest would prefer we didn't, tell us and we will not use it, or will remove it if it is already published.
We keep the list of suppliers short and use established providers:
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers have in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with other wedding suppliers.
We use one advertising tool of our own: the Meta Pixel. It tells us which of our Facebook and Instagram adverts bring people to this site, and which of those visits turn into an enquiry, so we spend our budget on the adverts that work. It only switches on if you choose “Allow” on the cookie banner. If you choose “No thanks”, it never loads.
When it is on, Meta receives the pages you visit here, basic details about your browser and device, and your IP address. If you send us an enquiry or ask for our guide, Meta is told that a form was sent - never your name, email address, phone number or message. Meta sets a cookie that lasts up to 90 days, and may link this activity to a Facebook or Instagram account under its own privacy policy.
We remember your choice for 12 months, then ask again. You can change your cookie settings at any time, and the same link sits in the footer of every page.
Third-party content embedded on the site - the Instagram posts on our homepage, and the booking widget - may set their own cookies when it loads. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
