360 photo booth hire: frequently asked questions.

The things couples actually ask, answered straight.

How much does 360 photo booth hire cost?

Party Octopus wedding experiences start from £775. The final investment depends on which collection you choose, how much of your day it runs across, how many of our team are hosting, and what your guests take home. Request the brochure and you'll have what each collection includes and clear indicative pricing before we ever get on a call.

How much space does the 360 photo booth need?

Roughly 3m x 3m with reasonable ceiling height, plus access to a standard power socket. We liaise with your venue in advance to agree access, power and positioning, so nothing is a surprise on the day.

How long does setup take?

Around 60 to 90 minutes. We always arrive well before guests do, and setup is complete and tidy before the room opens.

Is the booth staffed the whole time?

Always. Every booking is hosted by our Directors for the full hire period. That is the core of what we do - an unattended booth is a prop in the corner, and it's the reason the same six guests end up using it all night.

How do guests get their videos?

Straight to their phone at the sharing station, within seconds, ready to post. Your full private gallery follows by email the morning after your wedding.

Do you travel outside Yorkshire?

Yes. We're based in East Yorkshire and cover Hull, York, Leeds, Sheffield and the wider region as standard, with travel further afield by arrangement. We also take a limited number of destination weddings in Marbella each year.

How far in advance should we book?

Peak Saturdays and December dates go months ahead, so it's worth checking yours early. We take one Story Suite per date, and a season only holds 20 to 25 prime Saturdays - so if that's the collection you're drawn to, ask sooner rather than later.

Will our guests actually use it?

That's the entire question we're built around. An unattended booth relies on confident guests walking up on their own. We work the room instead - every table, every personality - and bring in the people who said they wouldn't get on. Those are the videos couples talk about afterwards.

Do you do corporate events and parties too?

Yes. Corporate events, gala dinners, awards, private celebrations and Hull proms are covered on our events page, and for most of them you can check availability and book instantly. For branding, data collection or experiential marketing, please fill in our events form and we'll get in touch.

What happens if we're not happy on the night?

You get your money back. Our 100% money-back guarantee covers our service on the day - presentation, setup, how we host it, and delivery of the media in your collection. Raise it with our team on the night and most things are put right there and then. If it can't be fixed there, email us within 14 days and we refund the fee in full, deposit included. Raising it on the night is what makes a claim valid. We would rather fix a problem than refund one, but you should book knowing the option is yours.

Can we cancel or move our date?

Yes. If you move your event and we are free on the new date, everything you have paid carries over at no charge. If you cancel 12 months or more before your event, you get everything back less a £75 administration fee; between 6 and 12 months, half comes back; closer than that, what you have paid is held as credit towards a future booking. The full terms are on our guarantee and cancellations page.

What if you're ill or your equipment fails on the day?

We carry backup on every booking - a second camera, spare lighting, spare printer consumables - because kit does fail and a wedding cannot be rescheduled. On staffing, we work as a team rather than a single operator, and we have a network of trusted 360 operators across the North who would cover us in a genuine emergency. It has not happened yet. The plan exists so that it never becomes your problem.

Isn't a photo booth a bit much for an elegant wedding?

It can be, and plenty are. A vinyl backdrop, a plastic prop basket and someone sitting on a stool looking at their phone will cheapen a room. That is the reason we exist. Our setups are studio-lit, the props are chosen to suit the setting rather than a theme park, our team dress for your room, and there are no trailing cables. If it does not look like it belongs at your venue, we have not done our job.

We already have a photographer and a band. Is this just more of the same?

No, and it shouldn't compete with either. Your photographer documents the day; we create something for the guests to do. A band owns the dance floor; we catch everyone the dance floor misses - the tables catching their breath, the relatives who won't dance until later, the friends who haven't seen each other in years. And unlike almost anything else you book, your guests leave holding something.

Our guests are quite reserved. Will it just sit there?

That's the situation we built the business for. Reserved rooms are the ones where an unattended booth fails completely and where a hosted one earns its money. We don't wait to be approached - we work the tables, read who wants encouragement and who wants leaving alone, and bring people over in twos and threes rather than putting anyone on the spot. The guest who said no three times becoming the last one off the platform is the single most common thing couples tell us about afterwards.

Why are you more expensive than the quote we've had?

Usually because a cheaper quote is a different job. What moves our price is how much of your day we're there for, and what your guests physically take home. Behind that sits over a hundred weddings of judgement about when a room wants pushing and when it wants leaving alone, venues liaised with weeks ahead, equipment maintained rather than run into the ground, and props and guest books bought to last. If price is the deciding factor, we're probably not the right fit, and we'd say so on the call.

Can we see what it will actually look like at our venue?

Often, yes. If we have worked at your venue before we can show you photographs from that room - our venues page lists where we have been. If we haven't, we liaise with your coordinator in advance and talk you through exactly where it would sit and how it would look.

Do you take more than one wedding a day?

Not for The Story Suite - that's one per date, and a season only holds 20 to 25 prime Saturdays. For the other collections we occasionally run a daytime and an evening booking, but never in a way that shortens your hire or changes who is hosting it. Your Director is yours for the full period.
